Learning Enhancement & Academic Development (LEAD)

MISSION: We provide supportive education and well-being services to the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app community to foster and promote the university’s humanistic values and tradition.

OVERVIEW

The Office of Learning Enhancement and Academic Development (LEAD) is a part of the division of University Student Affairs. LEAD’s goal is to help each °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app student successfully complete their course of instruction and assists students by providing one-on-one academic counseling, peer tutoring, the Summer Preparedness and Readiness Course, board exam preparation, wellbeing support, and workshops.

The LEAD Office serves all °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app students, free of charge. LEAD services are available for both °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app and °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±app Oregon. All academic and personal counseling and referrals to other campus support services are completely confidential.

  • TUTORING

Tutorial Assistance Program (TAP) services are peer-based, small group content review sessions. To receive TAP support, students must first meet with a LEAD academic counselor then, students must request a tutor. Please use this link to request a tutor after meeting with a LEAD academic counselor. Our LEAD Tutors are current and alumni students who have successfully completed the coursework you are requesting. They are eager to share their experiences to support your academic journey.

  • SUMMER PREPAREDNESS AND READINESS COURSE (SPARC)

The Summer Preparedness and Readiness Course (SPaRC) is a multi-week program designed to prepare incoming students for the rigors of their chosen program. SPaRC provides students with an introduction to applicable courses, skills, and competencies in an interprofessional healthcare setting while easing their transition to a professional graduate program.

    SPaRC FAQ

  • WELLBEING

We believe your wellbeing is important. We weave in aspects of wellbeing from four domains (mind, body, social, self) into every session we do. Your wellbeing matters!

  • WORKSHOPS

LEAD workshops and presentations will always be available at the request of the University and College Programs. We currently have successful workshops that are available and willing to customize and create new workshops to meet student and faculty needs.

  • Meet the LEAD Staff

LEAD staff works as an efficient and knowledgeable team. Although every counselor is proficient in the main areas of academic concern, each counselor also has at least one additional area of expertise. The result is that students often are not only seen by the counselor they may be starting out with but are in addition referred by that first counselor to another team member, depending on how a student’s needs are best served. In addition, processes have been put into place to ensure that each student receives the best care possible with all counselors providing congruent information.
